1. Who is responsible
Degreebazaar pvt ltd operates DegreeBazaar, an online-degree discovery and career-exploration service. Contact our privacy team at info@degreebazaar.com or use our support form. Our postal address and phone number appear below.
2. Information we collect
- Enquiries and eligibility checks: name, email, phone, education, the programme or university you select, contact permission, and any academic history, grades, work experience, location, nationality, preferences or notes you choose to provide.
- Course applications: contact details, date of birth, address, selected programme and intake, education and results, employment status, optional notes, consent and declaration. Our team reviews these submissions and records review status and follow-up activity. There is no application fee on this website.
- Career assessments: name, email, phone, date of birth, city and state, education and work background, interests, study availability, budget preferences, course choices, responses to work-style scenarios, consent records and generated reports. These are self-reported preferences, not medical or diagnostic records.
- Support and privacy requests: reply email, request description, reference and handling status. An email is optional for reporting AI content. Do not include passwords, private access keys, identity-document scans or unnecessary sensitive information.
- Technical data: network requests expose an IP address and basic request metadata to our hosting provider. We use short-lived hashed identifiers to prevent abuse. Public catalogue downloads and university images also generate network requests.
3. Why we use it
We use submissions to provide the service you request, generate and retrieve reports, respond to enquiries, handle support and privacy requests, verify guardian approval where needed, and protect the service. Counsellor follow-up for an assessment is optional. Submitting an assessment or support request does not by itself grant marketing permission. You can browse, search and compare degrees without creating an account or submitting a lead.
When you submit contact details, we create or match a private profile by email or mobile number. It groups your enquiries, submissions and career reports and fills contact details in future forms. A private session cookie remembers a newly created profile on the original browser for 30 days. Matching contact details alone does not grant access to an existing profile. Access on another device and email or phone changes require verification. Verification delivery is not available yet; requests are recorded, but no email or phone access link is currently sent. You can edit your name in My profile and clear this browser’s profile access.
4. AI processing and service providers
With your explicit permission before report generation, we send assessment responses and relevant course catalogue information to OpenAI. The structured name, email, phone, exact date of birth and guardian approval code are excluded from the AI request. Free-text answers can still contain personal details, so avoid including identifiers, health information or secrets. OpenAI processes the request as a service provider; the integration requests that generated responses are not stored through the API. This does not mean the provider keeps no security or abuse-monitoring records.
Our infrastructure uses Cloudflare for hosting, database and report-file storage. Authorised DegreeBazaar staff can access submissions to provide services and support. A university may receive information you explicitly ask us to forward as part of admissions assistance; we do not automatically send every assessment to every listed university. Your data may be processed outside India by service providers. We do not use advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs in these mobile apps, and do not sell assessment answers.

5. Data stored on your device
The apps cache public catalogue information and images, bookmarks, comparisons and onboarding preferences. Assessment drafts and private report shortcuts use secure device storage. The website uses browser storage for drafts, shortlists and report shortcuts. These storage features are necessary for the functions you use; we do not add an advertising cookie or analytics tracker. Staff sign-in may use authentication cookies. Profile access uses an HttpOnly session cookie; contact details are loaded from your profile rather than stored in that cookie.
PDF sharing creates a temporary copy on your device. Copies you save or send to other apps are controlled by those apps and cannot be recalled by DegreeBazaar. Report links contain a private access key: anyone you share a link or PDF containing that link with may access the report.
6. Retention and deletion
Submitted enquiries, assessment answers and reports are retained for 12 months from submission unless deleted sooner. Support and privacy requests are retained for up to 12 months from submission. Profiles are retained for up to 12 months after their last submission or edit. Profile access requests are retained for up to 30 days; expired sessions are removed. Expired records and associated stored PDFs are removed by our retention cleanup. Local drafts remain until you clear them; removing a local shortcut does not delete the server report. Provider backup, security and abuse-monitoring records follow their own retention terms and may not disappear at the same time as our live records.
Use the report’s “Delete report and answers” option to delete that assessment and its associated lead and stored PDF. To request deletion of other enquiries, withdraw contact consent, access or correct information, use Delete my data or contact us. We may verify ownership before acting. We will explain any legally required exception to deletion and limit retained information to that purpose.
7. Learners under 18
Learners under 18 may use DegreeBazaar with a parent or legal guardian. Before accepting their personal-data submissions or sending their answers to AI, we require guardian approval verified by our team. The guardian should contact support using their own details to arrange verification and receive an approval code. A learner’s own checkbox does not replace guardian approval. Guardians can withdraw approval and request deletion using the same privacy-request process. Do not upload identity-document scans through the general support form.
8. Security, rights and changes
We use HTTPS, restricted staff access, prepared database queries, private report access keys and secure on-device storage. No system can guarantee absolute security; keep private links confidential and contact us about suspected misuse. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or withdrawal of consent and raise a privacy grievance. We may update this policy when the service changes and will update the date above. Material changes to AI processing require renewed disclosure and consent where applicable.
